Josh Hinkle | Assistant Coach
Josh Hinkle moved from the playing field to the LC sideline in 2015 after an outstanding four-year career as a Hornet. The defender had a dominant senior season to lead LC to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) title, and earned 2014 All-South Atlantic Region, All-State and All-ODAC First Team honors. Hinkle was a three-time all-conference honoree.
More recently, Hinkle served as an intern at the Central Virginia United Soccer Club as well as coaching the junior varsity team at Jefferson Forest High School. He has coached the E.C. Glass High School JV boys the past two seasons and also worked at several camps in the summer months.
He graduated in the spring of 2015 with a degree in sport management and a coaching minor.
Brady Larkin | Assistant Coach
Brady Larkin joined the Lynchburg College men’s soccer coaching staff for the 2015 season and is now in his third year. The University of Mary Washington graduate was a three-year starter for the Eagles at outside back. Larkin helped UMW advance to the Capital Athletic Conference title game in 2012.
Larkin served as an assistant coach in 2014 for the University of Maine at Farmington, working in many areas, including organizing training sessions, student-athlete recruitment, scouting opponents, preparing video for individual/team analysis and training the goalkeepers. He also has club head coaching experience with the Central Virginia United U16 Boys and the Seacoast United Mariners U10 Boys.
He has worked at numerous camps over the last five years and volunteered as an intern with Soccer without Borders in Kampala, Uganda over the winter of 2013-14.
Larkin will be pursuing his master’s in educational leadership at LC. He graduated from Mary Washington in 2014 with a degree in geography. Larkin holds a USSF C License.
Scott Zaring | Assistant Coach
Scott Zaring rejoins the Lynchburg men's soccer staff for 2017, coming home to Lynchburg from Widener University in Chester, Pa., where he was assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Pride.
A Lynchburg College alumnus, Zaring played at Randolph College, Southern Virginia University, and finally at Lynchburg. A goalkeeper on that team, he helped the Hornets to an ODAC championship and a berth into the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2014.
Zaring has assisted the Jefferson Forest High School boys' soccer team on three different occasions, bearing a record of 62-6-3 and most notably helping the Cavaliers capture the 2011 VHSL Group AA state championship. He will take over as head coach of that program this coming spring. He also served as an assistant for coach Chris Yeager's 2015 LC men's squad.
He has also coached junior teams for FC Richmond and Central Virginia United. He is also a USSF E and D licensed coach.
